Puppy
When adopting a puppy from a rescue, don't trust its pictures.
The ideal representative of the breed should be medium large, robust and powerful. These creatures are good as pets and guards; they are short coated and their coat requires regular grooming and occasional bathing. There are markings on the coat of the dog. This breed is probably descended from the Italian Mastiff. In the Middle Ages, these hounds were used as herding dogs. They were bred in the German town of Rottweil in Wurttemberg therefore the name of the breed is similar to the name of the town of the breed origination.

Prior to purchasing a purebred pup, ask the breeder about the aim of this particular litter and see the whole litter and both its parents. It’s important to learn the breed standard when looking for a purebred dog. American breeders abide by the AKC Standard. It describes the physical appearance and other desired qualities of the breed. The standard reflects an ideal representative of the breed in terms of conformation, personality, and working abilities, but there are no ideal dogs. Every bloodline has its own defects. Minor conformation faults are less important than working abilities, trainability and personality. When adopting a puppy from a rescue, don't trust its pictures.
